Honestly, haven't we had enough idiocy?
Some videos you just have to see to believe. On Thursday, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin appeared in Wasilla in order to pardon a local turkey in anticipation of Thanksgiving. This proved to be a slightly absurd but ultimately unremarkable event. But what came next was positively surreal. After the pardon Palin proceeded to do an interview with a local TV station while the turkeys were being SLAUGHTERED in the background!! Seemingly oblivious to the gruesomeness going on over her shoulder, she carries on talking for over three minutes. Watch the video above to see for yourself. Be warned, it's kind of gruesome.

Of Capsized Guyana Boat Alive And Happy At Brooklyn Home:
Sherry Haynes survived 36 hours in Guyana river last month after her boat capsized. She lived by grabbing a 5‐gallon
bucket and life jacket. Her sister Sheila handed Sherry her bag
before she drowned.
Sherry Haynes was back home in Brooklyn Sunday night ‐ with
the bucket that saved her life and a harrowing tale of
survival and loss.
"It's a miracle to be standing here," said Haynes, 48, a nurse at
New York‐Presbyterian Hospital.
"I'm breathing, and I'm alive, and I'm very happy," she said inside her Crown Heights home, her husband, Keith, and
her 19‐year‐old daughter, Jennifer, at her side.
Her happiness is tempered by the loss she suffered: Her sister, a
nephew and a close friend died when their boat
capsized on a river in her native Guyana.
For 36 long hours, she survived by holding on to that plastic 5‐gallon bucket ‐ and a prayer.
"I said, 'You're in control, Lord. Whatever your decision is, it is.
You know I can't swim.'"
Her harrowing brush with death began two weeks ago when she
flew to her native Guyana to scatter her brother's
ashes in the vast Corentyne River.
Hector Gonsalves, 64, died Oct. 6 of kidney failure; he had worked as an engineer for the city's School Construction
Authority for 20 years.
A native of Guyana, he grew up about 100 yards from the river
and wanted to be buried there.
Haynes flew with her older sister Sheila Gonsalves, 64, and Sheila's son Henry, an intensive care unit tech at New
York‐Presbyterian, to Guyana, where they met her friend Ena Hope.
They scattered Hector's ashes in the Corentyne, then boarded a
water taxi to visit relatives in Suriname, across the
river.
It was a tragic decision.
The boat, which had seven people onboard and was loaded with
shipments of soda and chickens, capsized when the
motor got caught in a fishing net.
Everyone went into the moving water, whose fast currents ebb
and flow into the ocean off the South American
nation.
Sheila struggled.
"I'm looking at her and she's saying, 'Sherry, I'm going down!
Sherry, I'm going down!'" Haynes recalled through tears.
Sheila handed her bag to Haynes and vanished into the choppy
river.
"I held my sister's bag after she drowned and never let go of it,"
she said.
Haynes and her friend Ena, 31, held on to the bucket, but unable
to keep from swallowing the briny water, Ena also
drowned ‐ and Henry was missing.
Haynes was alone. Determined to live, she clung to the bucket,
which she held last night in her living room.
Wearing a life vest made for children, she struggled to keep it on
as the zipper came undone over and over again.
"I kept taking it in my teeth and bringing it back up," she said. "I
don't know how I did all this and stayed afloat."
Haynes said she was careful to keep from drinking in the water.
While she fought to live, her thoughts kept turning to her family ‐ and to God.
"I was thinking about my daughter and how she was going to
finish school without me," she said. "I was thinking
about my husband and how he was going to function without me."
Haynes was rescued 36 hours later when she washed up on shore. A cattle herder saw her and called for help.
"[The water] was hot and cold at the same time," she said. "My
skin was white, really paper‐white, and wrinkly."
"The less I have to do with water now, the better it is for me," she
said. "Here my feet are on solid ground."
Sheila, Ena and Henry drowned along with two other people on
the boat. Their bodies were found and buried in
Guyana. The boat's 24‐year‐old captain also survived.
Haynes said she has a new appreciation for life and for God.
"I think it's all Him," she said. "I couldn't have done it without
Him. God is in charge, and no one else. We may think
we are in charge, but we are surely not."
Her husband and daughter are equally amazed to have her with
them. They flew down after hearing about the
accident, thinking they'd return with her corpse.
"I went to pick up her body," Keith Haynes said, explaining that
he expected she would be found drowned. "We were
on the plane, and I was still dazed because we were going down
there to bury her.
"I'm so happy and grateful."
Although the loss of her loved ones pains her, she is looking to the future.
"It's a new lease on life," Haynes said, adding that she also has a
new fear of water.
"If I was going to church once a week, I'm going to go more often now," she said. "I fed the poor before I left and
intend to continue to help them and the less fortunate. I'm a
simple woman."
